1. Introduction
Q-PLANET (“the project”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data when you visit q-planet.eu or contact us through this website, and describes the rights available to you under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Q-PLANET is a research and innovation project funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme and the Chips Joint Undertaking under Grant Agreement No. 101291743, coordinated by Pasqal and bringing together 28 partner organisations across 11 EU countries.

2. Who we are
For the purposes of this website, the data controller is Pasqal SAS, project coordinator of Q-PLANET, registered at 24 rue Émile Baudot, 91120 Palaiseau, France.
Website communication and dissemination activities are managed on behalf of the consortium by the Portuguese Quantum Institute (PQI), which leads Work Package 12 (Communication and Dissemination). For any question about this policy or about your personal data, please contact comms@q-planet.eu.
3. Personal data we collect
We only collect personal data that you provide to us directly. At present this is limited to the information submitted through our contact form:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Enquiry category (general information, media, events, scientific collaboration or future pilot-line access)
- Message content
This website does not require you to register an account, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data, such as health, biometric or financial information.
4. How we use your data and our legal basis
We use the personal data submitted through the contact form solely to handle and respond to your enquiry — for example, to answer a media request, discuss a potential collaboration or provide event information.
The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you tick the consent box before submitting the form. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting comms@q-planet.eu; this will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before your withdrawal.
Where we use basic, aggregated website analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it, this processing is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where required, on your cookie consent.
5. Cookies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are necessary for the website to function; other cookies, such as those used for analytics, are only set with your consent, which you can give, change or withdraw at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Further details are available in our Cookie notice.
6. Who has access to your data
Personal data submitted through the contact form is accessible only to the Q-PLANET communication team (PQI) and, where relevant to your enquiry, to the specific consortium partner or Work Package leader best placed to respond. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
This website is hosted and maintained on our behalf by our hosting provider, which may process personal data strictly to provide hosting and technical services, under contractual data-processing terms.
7. International data transfers
Wherever possible, your personal data is processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). If any processor involved in operating this website is located outside the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, before any transfer takes place.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data submitted through the contact form only for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and, where relevant, for a reasonable period afterwards to allow for follow-up communication. Data is deleted or anonymised once it is no longer needed, and in any case no later than the end of the project’s data retention period as defined in our data management plan.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Request restriction of processing
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Request portability of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, please contact comms@q-planet.eu. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority, or with the French data protection authority (CNIL), which is the supervisory authority for our project coordinator.
10. Children’s privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact comms@q-planet.eu so that we can remove it.
11. Changes to this policy and contact us
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our processing activities or in applicable law. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
For any question about this policy or about how your data is handled, please contact: comms@q-planet.eu.
