Project descriptions

50-word boilerplate

Q-PLANET is a European initiative developing industrial pilot-line capabilities for neutral-atom quantum technologies. Coordinated by Pasqal and supported through Horizon Europe and the Chips Joint Undertaking, the project advances chip-based lasers, atom chips, vapor cells, electronics, packaging, testing and characterization for quantum computing, sensing and communication.

150-word boilerplate

Q-PLANET – Quantum Pilot Line for production of Advanced chips for Neutral atom European Technologies – is developing the foundations of a European industrial pilot line dedicated to neutral-atom quantum technologies. The project connects expertise in chip-based laser components, atom chips, microfabricated vapor cells, control electronics, packaging, testing and characterization.

During its first three-year phase, Q-PLANET aims to create more scalable and repeatable manufacturing processes, common design and assembly methodologies, quality-assurance approaches and industrialisation roadmaps. These capabilities will support the transition from advanced research components towards industrially relevant technologies for quantum computing, sensing and communication.

Q-PLANET is coordinated by Pasqal and receives support through the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme and the Chips Joint Undertaking under Grant Agreement No. 101291743.
